DESIGN TEAM: The Imagineers
GROUP MEMBERS: Sophie Kleist, Yibo Chen, Alexandria Zielinsky, Grace Ann Bock, & Melissa Jean Gerrits
BRIEF: The Imagineers refined their groundbreaking wayfinding initiative as they concentrated primarily a holistic approach to the morality and ethic of their design. Personas were utilized to showcase potential stakeholder identities.
Continuing with upholding WCAG standards, the Imagineers discovered the semiotic advantages of their design while acknowledging accessibility issues within their colour choices. These are important usability heuristics which are crucial for designers to recognize and address.

COURSE MAPPER
DESIGN TEAM: The Innovators
GROUP MEMBERS: Janna Dominique Carroll-Woolery, Lindsey Sara Kwon, Benjamin Lauckner, Ethan Eetienne Low, Neha Munje, & Brendan Kunho Yeung
BRIEF: The Innovators continued to build on their Course Mapper application/website as they planned to integrate artificial intelligence to suggest courses based on a student's interest and feedback from previous courses, while being mindful of the ethical implications of personal data collection and biases.
The team created a user persona of a student who has switched programs to ensure the application is useful to a wide range of students. The layout of the application prioritizes the progress ring, indicating a student's progress towards graduation. The team also simplified the side toolbar menu by using simple, concrete icons.

DESIGN TEAM: The Creators
GROUP MEMBERS: Liya Ghanniaiman, Johann Candelaria Liveta, Allen Lu, Nyah Schaefer, & Noah Stolee
BRIEF: ScheDOule is a new design artifact by the Creators to revolutionize your organization. With its innovative features like heuristics, icons and labels, consistency, user control, and keyboard shortcuts, ScheDOule makes it easy to stay organized and focused.

The layout is designed with careful consideration of icons and symbolic signs, using metonymies and conceptual groupings to optimize search accuracy. This revised agenda allows users to dictate their prioritizes and opens the door for users to have control over the appearance of the app.
TAROT CARDS OF TECHNOLOGY:
Ustudy
DESIGN TEAM: The Artisans
GROUP MEMBERS: Claudia Lam, Thalia Stefania Criollo Guerrero, Shae Ashcroft, Keith Suares, Neer Patel, & Saajan Kar
BRIEF: The Ustudy app design focuses on simplifying study room booking in UWaterloo. This design's simplicity relies on iconography, graphic literacy, and semiotics in communication. The diverse demographics of the school reflects the design's ambition to include accessibility needs, various languages and the universality of iconography.

The visual brand is a persuasive device to build familiarity while the design maintains traditional iconography but incorporates contemporary emojis to remain relevant with the target audience, and fill in the gaps of traditional iconography. The ethical concern is the prominence of privacy concerns with the apps use of location services and booking information.
TAROT CARDS OF TECHNOLOGY:
Know Your Phone (KYP)
DESIGN TEAM: The Visioneers
GROUP MEMBERS: Alivia Schill, Amira Taneja, Hemika Roy, Julian Lee, Shuaib McDoom, & Tanya Jessica D’Souza
BRIEF: Know Your Phone is a website that aims to empower consumers by providing information about different types of phones. The goal is to help people make informed decisions when purchasing a phone by demystifying the tech market. The website is designed to be simple and easy to navigate with a conversational language that is accessible to all users.
The designers used personas that help to identify different needs and values of users. The "Find Your Phone" quiz matches users with the ideal phone that suits their needs and values. The website also features an AI chatbot named Kypper that provides information on phone options and a community forum to allow for open discussion from users.
